Okay for future reference: covalent compounds happen when atoms share electrons to form molecules. OoooO I know what molecules are!! :P
The textbook says that a molecule is a group of atoms in which the atoms are bound together by sharing one or more pairs of electrons.
I knew that.
Hm, apparently shared pairs of atoms create covalent bonds that hold the atoms together. Coolness.
It says Carbon dioxide and water are examples of covalent bonds. Well of course. Carbon dioxide is CO2, Carbon-oxygen2, right?
And water is H2O. Two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom. Or a hydrogen atom and two oxygen... *Googles*
According to Wiki Answers, there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen. I was right the first time :P
